of Unfinished Birdhouses.
Unfinished birdhouses can be an easy, yet entertaining project for people of all ages. In some cases, they are sold as kits that must be put together piece by piece, while in other cases they might simply need a coat of paint. Either way, they are projects that do not require any experience in woodworking and can be a fun way to spend an afternoon.
If you are completely unfamiliar with woodworking, but still want to have some say in the design of your birdhouse, then unfinished birdhouses are the way to go. Kits are often sold according to a particular design style such as Victorian, Rustic, Arts and Crafts, etc.; so the first step is to pick out a design. These kits almost always come with a detailed set of instructions for assembly, and require very few tools, if any, in order to complete the project.
Once the construction process is complete, most unfinished birdhouses will need to be finished and painted. This is where your creative instincts can really take over, as there are no rules when it comes to decoration. Color scheme and decorative ornamentation can be done in any fashion deemed appropriate by the builder.
