of Victorian Birdhouses.
Victorian birdhouses are very popular with today’s bird lovers. They offer a uniquely styled alternative to the more common birdhouses sold throughout the country and can add an element of interest to a backyard or patio. And while it is possible to find these items through a local home and garden center, there are also dozens of online options as well.
Victorian architecture is an umbrella term used to describe the architectural practices of the second half of the 19th century. It is a style that is characterized by heavy ornamentation and dynamic color. These same design elements are used to construct today’s Victorian birdhouses, making them miniature tributes to a bygone era. And it is precisely this note of nostalgia that makes them so popular.
The downside to Victorian birdhouses is that they do tend to be a bit expensive. The amount of detail work that goes into these projects requires a great deal of time and effort by the manufacturer, and as such the price goes up. Depending on the specifics, it is not uncommon for a well-made Victorian design to sell for several hundred dollars.
