of Window Bird Feeders.
Bird watching is a favorite pastime for millions of people, all over the world. The sheer variety in species and the unique behaviors of these creatures makes them irresistible to animal lovers of all ages. Many bird lovers go to great lengths to encourage local avian varieties to visit their properties, and birdhouses and baths are common ways by which to do so. However, nothing will guarantee a backyard full of birds like free food, which is why window bird feeders are such popular backyard accessories. These food dispensers allow one to closely observe the eating habits of your local bird varieties from the comfort of your own home.
There are dozens of different styles of bird feeders available to today’s consumer. Some designs are intended to be freestanding, often requiring that a pole be firmly anchored to the ground in order to hold these feeders off the ground and away from predators. Other varieties are designed to hang from either a tree branch or something similar. These designs are often quite inexpensive when compared to other options and can be found just about anywhere. The problem with feeders like these is that they usually have to be placed away from the home, making it difficult to observe the birds up close without disturbing them.
Window bird feeders, on the other hand, do not suffer from this particular fault. They are designed to be mounted right outside of whichever window of the home one chooses, and encourages the local birds to dine where they are more easily observed. And just like other types of feeders, they are available in dozens of different styles and designs. From basic models that are little more than a small bowl with a suction cup to hold it to the window, to cleverly crafted designs that can literally bring the birds into your home, there is something for just about every bird lover and every budget.
Most local home improvement stores, as well as many pet stores, regularly carry these feeders in stock. For the most part, these retailers carry designs that are inexpensive, and usually made from plastic. They are ideally suited to those that are on budget, or for those that just want something simple and uncomplicated. In some cases, these local sources will carry a few feeders that are a bit more complex in both their design and in the materials used to create them. In any case though, the feeders carried by these retailers are usually those that are the best sellers, and as such it can be difficult to find something truly unique through a local source.
Fortunately, there are many online businesses that cater to those that are looking for one-of-a-kind window bird feeders. Many of these Internet-based retailers carry handmade designs that are considerably more interesting than what one can usually find through a chain store. However, one should keep in mind that the more unique or intricate the design, the more one can expect to pay for it.
